1       How do I know what benefits I have as a student member?

Answer:

Members are given member guides with their cards when they register, please read through the member guide. A copy of the member guide is also available on www.ingwehealth.co.za

2       How do I know which Doctor, Dentist or Optometrist I am allowed to visit?

Answer:

The doctors details are mentioned on the Welcome letter you receive with your membership card
Members can call our Customer Care Department.

Visit our on-site consultants at the scheduled service time (consult your University for the times)

3       Which blood tests, x-rays and medication will be covered when I visit my provider?

Answer:

Should a doctor give you a prescription or refer you for blood tests or x-rays kindly confirm with the doctor if these will be covered. The doctor has the necessary information to confirm.

4       Is out-patient treatment at the Hospital covered?

Answer:

Treatment is covered according to your selected option benefit for "After-hour treatment/ Emergency GP treatment. Refer to out-of-hospital benefits, which is limited. Out-patient treatment is not recognised as a "hospital admission claim". Only once you are hospitalised will funds be paid from your "Hospital cover".
