You cannot go to a specialist directly.
You need to be referred by your Ingwe Active Primary Care Network doctor.
We cover you for 2 visits per family per year, limited to R1 100 per visit and up to a maximum of R2 200 per family per year. Covered at 100% of Momentum Medical Scheme Rate. You need referral from your Ingwe Active Primary Care Network provider and permission, please contact us on 0860 102 493.

Some of the Ingwe Active Primary Care doctors are licensed to dispense medication. In this instance you can collect your medication from the doctor, except if it is chronic medication (click here for more information regarding the Chronic Benefit).
If your Ingwe Active Primary Care Network doctor is not licensed to dispense medication you need to take the prescription to the pharmacy to collect your medicine.
Only specific medication items are covered on your option. Please consult your Ingwe Active Network doctor for your medicine requirements or to check whether a specific medicine is covered. Medicine that is not on the list will be for your own account.
You have to use an optometrist that is on the Ingwe Active Primary Care Network. Click here to view the list. Please do the eye test first to see whether you do qualify for spectacles as your refraction measurement must be more than 0.5
Choose a frame from a Ingwe specific range to avoid co-payments and ask for a quotation to be sure it will be covered. Only standard lenses (excluding specific coating etc) will be covered. Click here for more information.
